Every Penny Counts
Sunday, June 10, 2007
Today wasn't too exciting, but a bit more relaxing then yesterday. Patricia had to head to church early to attend a Teacher Training meeting that was being taught by Dad. Fun for her! Cajsa tried to sleep in, but wasn't too successful. Cajsa slowly got ready for church because church didn't start until 1pm. While getting ready for church, Cajsa came up with a great idea for Lonny to be a surveyor, so we searched on the internet for job possibilities for Lonny. We'll see what comes of it...
Church came and Patricia had to work, so it was just Cajsa, Mom, and Dad, what a small family! I decided to attend Beehives, since it's been awhile since I have been. Yeah, Young Women's is so girly.
After church, we had grilled cheese sandwiches and David came home from his trip to California. He said it was a lot of fun. Cajsa can't wait for her turn to go to California in a couple of weeks...oh the beach!
We (David, Patricia and Cajsa) spend the evening, discussing financial planning, and getting budgets ready for college. What fun it was to realize how poor everyone is going to be, man Cajsa misses college, oh wait, she is done, ha, no more college for her! Then the evening was spent teaching Patricia how college classes work, and getting her schedule ready for the next four years. Watch out NAU, here she comes! Good luck and Good night!!!

Think before you speak!!!

Well, if this morning was any sign of what the rest of the day was going to be, we would have all gone right back to sleep, and wished the day away...but that's not how life works, so the day kept right on coming.
The day began with pancakes and eggs for breakfast, YUMMY! (That's not the bad part.) Patricia went off to work, and Cajsa started the day getting ready to run some errands. Mom decided to quickly clean out the guinea pig cage, well upon cleaning the guinea pig cage, we noticed that one of them wasn't moving, so mom poked it a little, yup, it was dead. Neither Mom nor Cajsa wanted to touch the Guinea pig, so Dad took care of it.
So, Mom and Cajsa went off to run errands, we went to Mountain Music and got Lissa a new violin case, and went to Walmart to pick up some photos, and then had a pit stop back at home. We then headed off to the mall. Meanwhile...
Patricia had just come home from work, she hopped in the shower because we were going to go out to dinner. Well, while Patricia was showering there was a phone call. Let's just say "Think before you speak!" We have all heard it a thousand times from Dad, but never realized how vital it was in the real world. Patricia didn't think before she spoke and had a little (BIG) trouble at work. We'll keep it simple, it was a long night, and luckily, it ended up working out ok. She's just glad that she still has her job!
After Patricia's job adventure, we decided to go out to eat. We went to Macayo's, REAL Mexican food! It was exactly what the doctor ordered! It was about 9:00pm when we were finished with dinner, and we had discovered earlier that Mervyn's was having a sale...$3 shirts!!! It was amazing, so Patricia wanted to go back to Mervyn's to get some tops. How can you beat $3 shirts?! We came home with some great stuff. Well, after our long day, we crashed, hoping for a better day tomorrow.

There's always more to get rid of

Today was full of fun and excitement, and a quick trip to the DI. Of course at the Montano household, there is plenty to let's say...recycle. We started the day by sitting around lazily, kind of just waiting for mom to direct us in the way of house chores to accomplish, some kind of cleanliness before more people arrive back at home. This way instead of coming home and making the house messier, they would just come home and put it back to the way it was!
So we decided that we would get rid of as much nonsense stuff that was in the garage as possible. In the process of getting rid of the garage stuff, we thought of some inside stuff that should go as well.
So off to the DI we went, with a van full of treasures waiting to be found, and bit of garbage as well. While looking for the DI, we found ourselves in another alleyway, but his time it was light outside, so we weren't quite as afraid, but we were still clenching our purses. We saw a big dumpster, and decided that we would quickly empty out the garbage, so with big "BANG", as the fax machine hit the floor, we were off as fast as possible. We made out way to the DI and finished dropping off all the "treasures". On our way home, we were instructed to get the van cleaned, the van was rather dirty (a special thanks to Blake from the other night).
Once again, Patricia went to work, and Cajsa stayed home and organized photos.

New job, that's easy!
Thursday, June 7, 2007
Today, was a pretty relaxing day, not much to do...for Cajsa. We were supposed to go swimming at the Dennis Weaver pool at 6:30am, but when Cajsa secretly came into Tricia's room at 6am, she just told her to scoot over and we both napped until past 7am! So much for that bright idea!
Patricia began the day with an interview all the way across town on 22nd and Harrison. She had to leave at 9am to be to her interview at 10 am. (of course she actually left at 9:15am, but still got there right on time) On her way back from her long, awkward interview, she discovered an "In N Out", she called Cajsa who just finished running, and asked if she wanted a cheeseburger, guilt set in and she said no for the first and second time, but then nature set in and Patricia ended up ordering a double cheeseburger meal with fries and a chocolate shake, and a regular cheeseburger.
After our delicious cheeezzzbugerrrzz, we decided to go shopping, and on the way, pick up an application for Patricia. Patricia not only picked up the application, but filled it out, got an interview, and then got hired right away! You are looking at the newest mentally disabled child care provider!

Cajsa got sick of waiting for Patricia...so she left her...and went to Kohl's big sale while Tricia was getting her job. Now there was no time for more shopping because Tricia had to go to work and she was utterly disappointed. :(
The rest of the evening was a bust! Cajsa watched "So you think you can dance", and Tricia worked.

How much are your friends worth?
Wednesday, June 6, 2007
Today was a break from the norm. Instead of Cajsa waking Patricia up, Patricia woke Cajsa up this morning...at 6:30am! Tricia was just getting done cleaning mom's car before mom went to work. There was a continuation of Blake Richins (from Walmart) into the night last night. This morning mom discovered "art" all over her and Patricia's cars. Let's just say that mom was not too happy, thus the reason for Patricia cleaning mom's car at 6am this morning.
We then continued into the morning by discussing high school drama between students, between teachers, and between students and teachers...Quite the stories that have accumulated from just our experiences! Lonny stopped by to tell us that he was sick, but he also talked about his trip to Arkansas. Sounds like it was a good vacation for him and Richelle.
While touching up some paint from yesterday, we listened to our new favorite song about a hundred times. It's 'Lazy Eye' by the Silversun Pickups. Check it out, it's freakin awesome! It's on Cajsa's myspace page.

Patricia went to work. (She was not late this time! Hooray!!!)
Cajsa layed out in the sun (who, by the way, passed Patricia in darkness in everything except the legs, arms, stomach, back, well...just the face), and made BLT's for dinner.
We finished off the evening with a trip to Target to buy graduation gifts for Patricia's friends. This is where we discovered that Friend 1 was worth approximately 10 more dollars than Friend 2... makes you think about what your friends are worth...

Don't Recycle
Tuesday, June 5, 2007
Today was quite the adventurous day, full of dust and discoveries. We woke up bright and early this morning (9:30 am), and saw a note left for us from our mom. It was the dreaded note "Take the Newspapers to the curb." Ahhh, it was recyclables day, so in a quick panic, we took the newspapers to the curb. We walked back in and then noticed the stacks and stacks of magazines, 'what were we to do?'
We decided to make a phone call...we were instructed to get rid of all the magazines as well, so out to the back side of the house we went (where more magazines resided). We found the rest of the magazines that we were suppose to get rid of, and we lifted up the plastic box and it busted, right on top of the other box that soon there after busted as well, plastic was everywhere, guess that's what the Arizona sun does.
So, to our next adventure...
we decided that we were going to have to go to the recycling center to dump the magazines, so we dumped all the magazines in the back of Tricia's car. We decided that we needed a break, so we went to get some water from the garage, and discovered the DI bags, and then decided that we needed to clean the garage. We then realized that there was more stuff to take to DI inside, so we walked inside and decided to clean the playroom. We went to get rags in the laundry room, and then decided to start in the laundry room. We then looked at the kitchen, and then thought, well, maybe there, and finally we looked at the family room and came to the final conclusion that that was the real starting place. So that's where we started and cleaned until the playroom closet was neatly, but fully stacked.
We didn't quite reach the garage, but that will be left for another day...
The adventure continues when Tricia came home from work, we had to run to the Recycling Center, and then to Walmart. It was 10 o'clock at night and we thought that we knew where we were going, to Prince and Fairview of course. So we got in the car and left, while looking for the Recycling Center we found ourselves in an alleyway. It was dark, late at night, and a bit creepy; as we were passing through the alleyway, a light came on and we thought we were dead. It was just a sensored light, but it freaked us out nonetheless. We decided to make a phone call, found the actual location, and made it alive. Then to Walmart...we were getting the couple of items that we needed made our way out, Tricia put the car in reverse, and all of a sudden, "BANG!" There was a body on the back of the car, but our car never moved...Blake Richins. We almost died laughing after we almost died trying to figure out what had just happened. We made it home alive, and that's where the day ends. Until next time...

The Cha Cha Slide

Sorry for the disappointment of not receiving a message yesterday. We were rather busy...
So, yesterday we spent the morning working off all the food we ate the day before. We began the day of fitness and fun by running 3.5 miles. It was definitely hot! We then continued the day of fun by doing crunches, push ups, and leg lifts.
We then proceeded to the second portion of our work out by scrubbing, vacuuming, and skimming the pool, which included a complementary tan. This was interrupted by a phone call by Sunshine Swim School. Apparently, Patricia was suppose to be at work at 1:30 instead of 4, which she so absentmindedly forgot. So, in about 4.65 seconds Tricia was off to work, quickly changed and all. Cajsa then decided to take advantage of the complimentary tan, by laying by the poolside, and listening to her ipod.
When Tricia got home we decided to download songs, and share music. We were both thinking of a song, and we couldn't think of the title so we searched it out on the internet, and wow did we find results!!! Check out the "Cha Cha Slide" from katiebug16926 on YouTube. Pretty funny!!! Well, that was our day!
